Nikita Gill - A Quiet Day In Wonderland (2014)
Brand new, fascinating work by artist David Slone (Previously on Supersonic). Most of these pieces are from David’s solo show, “Aberrations,” which is currently on display until November 29th, 2014 at Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City, Missouri. I’ve been following Slone’s work for quite a while now and he constantly impresses me with his paintings. You can see more of his new work below!
The Gif Connoisseur
famed illustrator Norman Rockwell painted The Connoisseur for The Saturday Evening Postmagazine. It shows a man standing in front of a Jackson Pollock-esque style painting at a museum or gallery. Today, that same character, in his matching suit, is back to see a more modern form of art known as the animated GIF.

"The concept for the design is straightforward, bold and receptive to future locations: take the ordinary and turn it on its side. Drawing from the nearby New York Public Library in Bryant Park, the space is lined in a sepia-toned full size photograph of books printed on tiles. The custom tiles run along the floor, up the 15’ foot wall and across the ceiling. The frosted glass wall behind the service counter illuminates the space and the wall directly opposite is clad in rich brown herringbone. The thrust of this concept finds expression in the lighting and materiality, and ultimately the space gives definition to the emerging brand."
